I personally think classical music to be beautiful and after listening to quite a bit I was then introduced to arias. Falling in love with the idea of being an opera singer I decided to give it a try.
People find it a little weird that a rebellious 21 year old who isn’t into elegance, formal atmosphere and silence could ever like music like this, but I do.
I picked Habanera (a.k.a L’amour est un oiseau rebelle) from Georges Bizet’s famous opera Carmen and decided to give it a shot. Below is my attempt at Habanera, I have had no prior training or help so don’t be mean 🙂
I may have been singing since I was 3 but I never really knew I was a cut above the rest until a month ago. Now when I say “a cut above the rest” I don’t intend to mean I could give Beyoncé a run for her money. What I am trying to say is that I can sing in-tune (for most part of the song at least).
There is definitely a lot I need to work on if I have any plans on making a living out of it but I still think that, for a start my voice is pretty decent. Well, that’s my opinion but I’d rather hear what you have to say. Do have a listen, it will take you less than 2 minutes and let me know what you think of it.
Cheerio!!“Puff, the Magic Dragon” was written by Leonard Lipton and Peter Yarrow and originally performed by Peter, Paul and Mary .”
